Vehicle Inspection
For used vehicles with out-of-state titles:
Inspections are performed at the Crawford County Sheriff's Department located on West 47 Highway in Girard. Hours for inspections are 8:00 A.M. until 3:45 P.M. Monday through Friday. The fee is $20, cash is preferred. NO credit/debit cards accepted. Required for Inspection: --The vehicle to be inspected. --The title to the vehicle. --A valid drivers license. --The inspection fee. If you have a certificate of origin you do not need an inspection. For Salvage titled vehicles being put back to highway status AND Kansas non-highway titled vehicles being put back to highway status: Inspections are performed ONLY at the Girard Police Department by the Kansas Highway Patrol on Wednesdays from Noon until 2:00 p.m. The fee is $25, cash is preferred.
