The Crawford County Appraiser’s Office is now taking applications for a full-time Real Property Appraiser. This individual will be responsible for the valuation of real property throughout the county. An ability to work outdoors, in all conditions and a valid driver’s license is required. Other responsibilities may include accurate data entry, answering the telephone and working with walk-in customers. This individual must also be proficient in computer software programs, learn quickly and the personality to work well with others. A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. required, college degree preferred. The Crawford County Attorney’s Office and the City of Pittsburg, Kansas are seeking a highly motivated person to prosecute all felony drug cases arising out of the Pittsburg Police Department.
The individual selected to fill this position will perform duties that include, but not limited to, the following: review and file all felony drug cases arising out of the city of Pittsburg; appear in court for all assigned cases including jury trials; represent the State of Kansas at all levels of criminal prosecution; conduct legal research, draft motions, responses, pleadings, and proposed orders.
The position will be based in Girard. The recipient will work closely with the Pittsburg Police Department and will provide ongoing case direction and support on a routine basis. Successful candidates must be admitted to the practice of law, be in good standing in the State of Kansas, and be able to pass a background check.
Prior experience as a prosecutor or criminal defense is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a generous benefits package.
