Road & Bridge
The road and bridge department operates a bucket truck to clear low hanging limbs. Please contact the R&B office if you encounter limbs that need trimmed.
Ph: 620-724-8215 Crawford County Highway Department is responsible for the maintenance of 819 miles of gravel roads, 188 hard surface roads, and 241 bridges. Other responsibilities include ditch and culvert maintenance and installation, roadside mowing and tree trimming, and snow removal.
The County Garage is responsible for the maintenance of the departments pickups, dump trucks, graders, mowers, asphalt equipment, and various other equipment. The Sign Shop fabricates the majority of the signs and installs and maintains all County roadside markers, street signs and traffic control signs. Culvert Installation: Any resident requesting a new culvert will be responsible for the cost of the culvert, there is no charge for the installation. The County does provide replacement culverts at no charge. Dust Control Program: Crawford County continues to offer a Dust Control Program for rural residents. The cost of this product will be computed in the spring of each year. Crawford County is divided into 3 Commissioner Districts and each Commissioner has a Road Foreman that is responsible for the maintenance of that district.
