The 11th Judicial District consists of Cherokee, Labette, and Crawford counties. Serving this District are 6 District Judges and 1 Magistrate Judge, with Hon. A.J. Wachter appointed as the District's Chief Judge. There are approximately 12,000 cases filed in the 11th Judicial District each year. Of these cases, about 1,200 are criminal cases (where persons are accused of a crime) and 5,000 are civil actions (usually suits for money).
