The Crawford County Treasurer's Office would like to remind Crawford County taxpayers that the first half of 2020 real estate and personal property taxes must be paid by Monday, December 21, 2020, to avoid penalty. The Treasurer's Office, located inside the County Courthouse in Girard, is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Payments may be mailed to the Crawford County Treasurer, P.O. Box 96, Girard, Kansas 66743. Payments may also be placed in the large Ballot Box receptacle located in the parking lot of the Crawford County Judicial Center, 602 N Locust, in Pittsburg, between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. On-line payments can be made here. All tax payments postmarked by December 21, will be processed without penalty. If anyone has questions, please call Crawford County Treasurer's Office at 620-724-8222.

Prior to open burning - Please contact your local Fire Department and /or Law Enforcement to ensure that they know it is a CONTROLLED BURN and to ensure that there is not a BURN BAN in place.
Information you are requested to provide Name, Phone Number, Physical Location of the Burn and what you are burning.

With severe weather season upon us, please take the time to prepare a plan in the event that that you may need to seek shelter in a saferoom, basement, storm cellar, lowest interior room, or a public shelter. Please do not let the threat of COVID-19 prevent you from seeking cover. A tornado presents a greater threat of imminent danger to life and injury and should be treated as so. For those of you that seek cover at available public shelters, facemask are at the shelters and will be available to help prevent spread of the COVID-19.
